Treble Clef Notes

Last week we covered all the white keys on the piano and the fingers on the hand. Look below if you need a reminder where each note is.

Recall that there is one specific C that is considered "middle C".  This is the C that is right in the middle of your keyboard.  We played "Ode to Joy" in our right hand using finger numbers.  This week we will still use the same position from last week but this time we will be reading from the staff.

A staff is a set of five horizontal lines and four spaces. Notes can be either on a line or  space.

For now we will read from the treble clef.  The treble clef will only be played by your right hand. Below are the notes in the staff and how they relate to the piano. Notice the higher the notes are on the staff the higher the notes are on the piano. The notes on the treble clef will never change.  Middle C will always look as it appears on the staff below.
